Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

Been enjoying this immensely, nothing bad to say about it. I'm not even a MOBA fan, but was immediately drawn to the mix of card driven combat and area control. First rate production quality. Fast set up and pack down. Huge depth and potential to grow. A friendly bubbling community is growing up around the obsessively engaged devs. Full marks!

I love this game! I’ve always been a HUGE boardgame nerd and I played a lot of League of Legends, so this game is right up my wheelhouse. With that being said there are 3 things about the game that succeeded my expectations: 1. The Community a. The community/discord channel for this game has been INCREDIBLE especially during COVID. They’ve had online tournaments and games on Tabletop Simulator that are always beginner friendly. There’s always a plethora of people ready to help you or answer your questions about the game and you can always find people online to play with. I’ve made quite a few new friends and have had so much fun playing online with everyone. 2. Re-Playability a. Every game is different, from what hero’s you’re playing, to the hero’s you’re playing against, to win conditions, to the deck you’ve built, no game is the same. Although this is true with the base you need to get at least 1 or 2 of the expansions to really open up all the different variations of this game (which I highly recommend) 3. Unique deck building a. The deck building for this game is so much fun, because not only are you building a deck of cards, you’re also figuring out what hero’s you want to play, and how those cards work well with the hero’s. If that weren’t enough, a lot of your deck is used for attack modifiers so not only are you thinking about card effects and how they work with your hero’s, but you are also thinking about mana costs AND attack modifiers. This game is a 10/10 for sure.

Felt less like a MOBA and more like a brawler. Most of the things I like about MOBAs aren't really there, like building as the game develops to adapt to your strategy and what your opponents are doing. The game does snowball badly like a MOBA though, and if you fall behind, you're basically along for the ride until you're finished off or you can sell out completely for an objective. The lane control on the 2 lane/5 turn map was pointless because objectives can be met well before a control marker reaches a tower, which makes the base defense aspect ignorable based on what objectives are pulled. I likely need to play this on the bigger side to appreciate it more, but the 2-lane experience was very poor.
