While empires rise and fall in Eastern Europa, the rest of the world takes notice. Two distant factions, Albion and Togawa, send emissaries to scout the land and employ their own distinct styles of conquering. The expansion works seamlessly with any version of Scythe.

The new factions are a little too strong. First they reach the factory just from the beginning. Secoundly they have a very strong bonus with flags and traps on the end of the game. Third they can jump back to their tokens from everywhere. Even the airships do not repair this for 100 %. I personally prefer to use the "old" nations even in 5 player games. But the new playermats are great!

Design a game with seven factions, but give buyers only five of them. Then, charge buyers an extra $30 or $40 to get the last two factions.

The new factions felt less than half baked to me. The abilities of the core factions are almost always useful. The new factions have really situational and uninteresting abilities. And IMO their lack of speed is far more hurtful than the boost they get for not having a river. I think the game is better without them.
