Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

I consider it a necessary addition to Roll Player, as most people may be disappointed they can't *do* much with the character they're making in the base game. It's also valuable in that having more options for one's turn makes it less likely that someone will do something that forces you to restart your decision-making right before your turn comes up.

Ramble thoughts: Somehow, this expansion manages to make the base game less complex, less interesting, and less fun. The puzzley nature of the base game is replaced by a ton of randomness. The tight decision-making, the feeling that every move matters dramatically is gone, replaced by a feeling that even if I don't get this turn right, eh, who cares, I can always fix it later. The market will be overlooked by most players who will focus immediately on getting XP by fighting monsters, since the XP can be used to manipulate dice anyway. I'm pretty sure I hate this expansion, unless it turns out I made a major rules mistake somehow.
