Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Planning and timing in this game is fun. Especially when it goes right and you raid a place perfectly. It gives you a good feeling. It feels like getting paid for hard work. Nothing in this game is useless and unimportant, and everything if used correctly will help you to get points and finally win. What makes this game amazing is the crew members. They determine which path you choose to play. None of them give you the feeling that they are in the game for no reason. All of them are useful in the right situation. However, you can use some of them more easily and they are stronger than others. The problem is that the combination of some of them is extremely powerful. Especially Forager and Recruiter. The combination of these two is extremely powerful at the beginning of the game, and if you get them at that time, the winner of the game will be determined right from the start. This is the only problem I can say about the game. I love this game but I'm not going to even get close to it ever again! Playing this 107 times is more than enough.

I love the drop 1 and pick up 1 worker placement mechanic! I will always play this game if anyone is willing to play with me. :)

First play through as a 3 player & we instantly all said let's play that agin. Great mechanics and card building in order to then raid across the sea.
