As empires expand into space, they encounter mysterious alien artifacts and races uplifted to sentience eons ago. Meanwhile, Imperium factions provoke other worlds to ally and rebel as the galaxy drifts towards war.
Can you build the most prosperous space empire in these challenging times?
Expansion and Brinkmanship bundles 3 previously published expansions, The Gathering Storm, Rebel vs Imperium, and The Brink of War into a single product, compatible with 1st and 2nd Edition Race for the Galaxy.

If you enjoy Race at all, I'd suggest this nice collection of the initial expansions. Only go beyond this if you really love the game.

The main mechanism of tableau building using cards from your hand to make payment is addictive: calculating and speculating which cards will assist engine building to gain more fuel (cards) and distance (vps) is constantly refreshing with the card variety and suspenseful with the commitment and sacrifices. The goals add to the 'race' feeling, but I felt that the expanding universe of cards became more confusing with the additional icons, I don't like the tableau stealing. Even playing the AI doesn't help with the feeling, despite become more fluent with the icons. Overall I felt the expansions were patches, shame as I love the main mechanism which seems to be done to minimal effect in Jump Drive.
