Race For The Galaxy (Second Revised Edition)
30m - 60m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 12+
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.
Simultaneous Action Selection

11-15-2014: I initially had this at a 6 after playing one game last summer. We played it again recently and it seemed to go much smoother, I guess since I had a much better handle on the rules. I'm not sure we would ever own this ourselves, but playing this with friends who know it well, it is an enjoyable, quick game. DTC VFM

I didn't like this game at first but the more I played it with the expansions the more enjoyable it was for me.

Love this but it hardly ever gets to the table - need to have a 3-4 game sesh to see if it clicks for people
