Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Variable Phase Order implies that turns may not be played the same way as before and/or after.

A dash of the King is Dead mixed with 7 Wonders and Glory To Rome, this is a light hearted and silly area control game. The artwork is fantastic, the theme is pointless and over the top and the components are great and overproduced. It would be more fun and sillier still if it were presented with no theme at all in a Winsome-style manner of spartan components - cubes and hexes. I really enjoyed my single play of this game. Using the expansion of forcing the end game makes the game faster to play, otherwise it can drag on for 3+ hours like in my first play.

All actions are taken from a set of cards that are drafted by the players so you always know what everyone is capable of and the trick is working around it, all with a delightful Celtic theme everywhere. If only this meshed slightly better with the board aspect.

Seems like a good game overall but just born for me. I don’t like having to be aggressive in order to make progress. I was hit hard by multiple factions but early to mid game and put in a position where I just had to wait till the game was finished. King making seems like it could be a common occurrence. Pretty pictures but theme just laid on top of mechanics. This could easily be a space battle game where your fleets explore different sectors and control planets and space stations. Anyways, since I’m not an aggressive player I get taken advantage of in these game because game games like this reward people for being dicks.
