Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

This is a good expansion in that it at least adds two new boards to play on. However, I do have a few problems with it. 1. The board will often get cluttered. at one point we had a person carrying a victim down a ladder that was on the same space as an ambulance. It sounds like a minor complaint, but it gets really annoying. In addition, the coordinate markers (which are no longer printed on every space) are often covered up by the vehicles. 2. They reversed the coordinates. This, again, sounds minor, but can get annoying. Instead of printing the red, 6-sided die on the x-axis and the black, 8-sided die on the y-axis, the opposite is true. So calling out "fire spreads to 6, 4" can get confusing as people attempt to determine which die you've labeled as x and which one you've labeled as y. 3. It comes shrink-wrapped and not in a box. This may not be a problem for some people, but this game will not fit in the original box (and have the box close all the way) unless you take out the original cardboard divider. In addition, the edition I had seemed well worn down the middle of the "A" board with a notable white crease. That said, the addition of windows, ladders, staircases, and thin walls are welcome and add challenge and diversity to this game. I'd say it's worth the (fairly cheap!) price!

Haven't played it, but if you are into the game, it looks like an essential expansion: offering a 2nd story, ladders, and windows to enter.

They are adding an unheard of element called a Rescue Dog. This dog will obviously run near fire, through smoke, and actually sniff out victims (through said smoke) AND MOVE THEM. Fantasy game, especially if you like dogs. Lame
