Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

Thematic coop game based on pick-up and deliver with quite a lot randomness. Good game for families. By design it is very accessible and expandable. Puzzle is a bit too easy. It has a Pandemic like 4-action-game-structure.

A theme that shines brightly, clean layout and typography that just "flows" and makes sense, well-crafted components, awesome fire mechanic.... what's not to love?! My wife and I instantly fell in love with this on our first play, and I can't wait to get it to the table again. It plays quickly, the rules make sense, and it feels very intimate. FP:FR gets compared to Pandemic a lot, and rightly so. It shares several aspects and mechanics that work very well. However, while I adore Pandemic and it's expansions, FP:FR has a lot to recommend it as well. This shouldn't be an either/or decision, but rather, get both! Pandemic feels massive, a global fight for survival. FP:FR feels very personal, a rapidly-changing struggle to save victims in a burning house. The difference in scale/scope is notable, and both do their jobs well. Get Flash Point. If you enjoy co-op gaming at ALL, FP:FR will scratch the itch.

It's like a really cool [thing=30549][/thing] with a much stronger theme. I'm not sure I like it as much as Pandemic, though, as my 2nd game was a big dud that nobody at the table liked. But I haven't given up on it.
