Famed Jericho Kill has unlocked the ability to manipulate time itself! She has journeyed into the temporal planes, defeated Phoenixborn from across many timelines and claimed their greatest weapons as her own. She now returns, reborn in fire, and is prepared to turn the path of her own timeline.
Ashes Reborn: The Breaker of Fate gives players an all-new Ashes deck ready to play out of the box, or with which to begin deck-building. It not only introduces a new Phoenixborn and new cards to the game, but also includes ten new Time Magic dice and a stylized deck box which neatly organizes a sleeved Ashes deck, ten dice, and all the tokens from the base set.

OK, firstly let's talk about the packaging - a shrink-wrapped deck, inside a box, inside a box, surrounded by shrink-wrap. The box is too big and contains unnecessarily large plastic filler trays. At least the inner box is sturdy and can be used for storage and the plastic trays may have helped towards that if they weren't designed to simply fill space. FFS think of the planet people. Now let's talk price - £25 in the UK (msrp £30) for less than 40 cards and 10 dice. Perhaps if the box had been smaller the shipping costs would have been lower - but then I guess the box is as big as it is to partly justify the price. Ah, but I hear you say the cost isn't just about the number of components, think of the original art that needs to be commissioned - well I reckon there are 11 original bits of art in this release and, although they are quite good, they aren't as good as the original sets done by Fernandez Suarez. The gameplay will probably be fine, although not without issues, but the packaging and cost are lamentable - please try harder. The rating would be a 1, but at least the inner box is usable.
