Rollecate (Second Edition)
10m - 15m
1 - 4 Players
Ages 8+
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

An easy to learn and fun game, which is enjoyable to play multiple times in a row! Even with single player. The rules are very clear, though they lack some connection with the overview card. The game is also easy to explain. However, the rules concerning 'passing' isn't always immediately understood. A last down side is the size the 'game board' could become. I had to move the tracks several times, since I reached the end of the table. Taken that all in account, Rollecate is very good game that's both simple and challenging. Though, you don't have to pay very close attention to it. I find it very fun to play, and after you finish the first game, you'll start a second and third and maybe more.

Re-released as Loose Caboose at a lower price. The rules have changed but you can use the Loose Caboose components to play Rollecate. I prefer the Rollecate rules and the Loose Caboose artwork.

Very easy to learn. Very short game. Good quality cards and pieces. Enjoyable. Can be played solitaire. For a card game, you will need more table space than usual (I sometimes shift the track cards on the table to make more room for a certain direction).
