Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

I really love 2 out of 3 in this expansion, but Gaston is entirely too easy to play as. He wins 99% of battles he is in regardless of who he plays against and that isn't my favorite... Especially when I feel like so much could have been done with his character. This expansion could have easily scored a 8 but I just really cant wrap my mind around the Gaston issue.

I think it's missing the balance from Prospero Hall. These characters work well against each other, but as their Objectives are more complicated, I couldn't see playing them effectively against the Villains in the earlier sets. The character instruction sheets aren't as well written as the previous entries in the series.

Lady Tremaine is very different to play from the other villains. I'm really happy that the Horned King makes an appearance; The Book of Three was one of my favorite series when I was younger.
