Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.
Deck / Pool Building
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

The artwork is not great, but the gameplay is fun and enjoyable. I like how there are two different ways to end the game. I usually go after the point scoring cards and then go for the silk/fabric locations.

Another one of those games where the game itself is greater than the sum of it's worker placement parts. Always tight and interesting with just enough tension.

Exceedingly well designed, tight economy and tough choices in hand management. There are several paths to points and they hinge on taking advantage of opportunity while making your way progressively (and quickly!) across the map. Plays fine with 2, but better with 4 - although a full table of 5 might feel too crowded. Incredibly good game - feels like a classic to me.
