Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
In storytelling games, players are provided with conceptual, written, or pictorial stimuli which must be incorporated into a story of the players' creation.

Only a two hour session in and o don’t love it so far. I don’t feel very involved just yet, we’ll see how it goes. When i say I'm not involved yet this seems to be a narrative game but I don't appreciate how the narrative started. Like it's uneven (can't say more without spoilers. I'll wait and see how ti goes.

Once you get into it, Sleeping Gods is a beautifully crafted atlas game. There is so much to explore and so many ways to go about your journey and the replayability is superb. The game mechanics can feel clunky at first, but after a few rounds they feel very natural. The only real downside to this game is the save system, which could just as well be non-existent. My recommendation is to leave the game on the table and take turns at your leisure.

A good game. Writing is in the "somewhat decent" range, which is much better than the majority of board games I've played so far. French translation might partly be at fault. Combat is fun, albeit a bit too punishing for my taste. Exploration and the associated rewards appear random at times, a shame for a game mostly based on moving around, but overall nothing too harsh to the player. The art is gorgeous, it really helps with the immersion. I've made one full game so far, will probably do another, but I doubt I will but the expansion or binge the game.
