Cooperative Play
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Enjoyable dungeon crawler. Great flavour text. There are quite a few rules which slow the game down, but great atmosphere. Not easy for severe visual impairment.

Having played the game I now seeing why they emphasized the fact you are townsfolk just trying to get by and not seasoned adventurers because a lot of the game is a struggle. Exploration in this game is cool, wondering what will be around the next bend and seeing what you will find. However the obstacles and barriers aren't that exciting and prove more nuisance than anything else. Battles are punishing and with the lack of re-rolling you will often come out of a single battle limping to a campsite to heal back most of your life. And then there are the skills, so many different skills but you end up using maybe 2 or 3 in a given adventure out of 8. Then there is the scenario itself, I played the first one and it just ends, very anti-climatic and makes it feel kind of incomplete.

Not bad although there is a little bit 'flip-a-card' roll to beat the test generic randomness to it. Given the mechanics are solid but nothing special the game needs to deliver on narrative generation and I didn't feel there was quite enough variety provided in the base box. It needs lots of monsters, lots of maps, lots of different weapons/spell/abilities and lots of challenges/tests etc otherwise it will get samey fast. It just needed 'more' of everything.
