Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

Full review: https://playerelimination.com/2019/05/13/visions-of-thac0-a-legends-untold-weeping-caves-review/ ----------------------------------------------- A very fussy adventure card game that has quite a big rules footprint for this type of game. The flipside is that the experience is quite rich and heightened by the extended details. This game is all about exploration, and it does this extremely well. The cave forms as you progress in unexpected ways, throwing challenges at you and always keeping you on your toes. This design hits on a very specific AD&D nostalgia as it presents questions and challenges around RPG specific situations. There is much discussion about marching order, which exit to explore out of, how to manage stealth and light sources, etc. The conversations that arise in your head and with others are remarkably similar to that in a dungeon crawl adventure utilizing a tabletop RPG. That factor ultimately allows this game to form an identity that separates it from similar designs. It comes at that cost of a fiddly and complicated ruleset, however. All-in-all, I think this may be my favorite game of this type. It sits right up there alongside Space Hulk: Death Angel as a standout dungeon crawl small format design.

Backed on Kickstarter. It doesn't have a small setup time. Reading the tiny cards, sorting the many stacks takes to much time, considering how fast the game is.
