Betrayal Legacy
Betrayal Legacy marries the concept of Betrayal at House on the Hill with the permanency and multi-game storytelling. Betrayal Legacy consists of a prologue and a thirteen-chapter story that takes place over decades. Players represent families, with specific members of a family participating in one story, then perhaps an older version of those characters or their descendants showing up in later stories.

This game is a broken mess. All the more disappointing because I can see a game I want to play, but it unfortunately never materializes. The rulebook is awful. There should be a lot more time before the haunt kicks in. The game has no balance. It’s completely half-assed. So almost all of the fun is ruined for both sides because the exploring is always rushed and the haunt is usually completely unbalanced. The group consensus is that it would have been nice if the designers could have updated the broken parts of the original game.

It's Betrayal, you likely know whether or not you enjoy the thematic horror, the dice-rolling, the vague rules, etc (I do). The Legacy aspect makes it a wonderful experience, I have a fantastic time with my friends while playing and love watching our house change based on the results of our game. Choice is hardly the deciding factor, more just luck and each sessions winner, but still very fun. I'll update as we get farther into the campaign. My suggestion: When adding cards to the game, write on them from what haunt they came, and a little bit of the flavor the game gives you as to the reason each card appears. We never remember the details from the thematic entries or which cards they introduce, so it helps remind us where cards came from, and of our journey together!

I had a blast and I'm kinda choked up that the campaign is over. Some of the design choices and mechanics are really top-notch, you need to be ok rolling dice and rolling with the punches that comes with that however. I'm holding out hope hard for a sequel that tightens up the experience and evolves past it.
