This expansion makes the core game far better. Some of the haunts I've played were far more unique and balanced. They made player choices more meaningful.

Not necessary unless you're a purist like me :) Especially dig the dumbwaiter addition. The roof sometimes spreads things out a bit much and I've found deck dilution to be a problem if playing some of the original scenarios - i.e., requiring a particular item in an expanded deck can give the traitor a big advantage. Still highly recommended. Edit: Having played more haunts from the expansion I am downgrading my rating. The tiles, tokens and cards are great but most haunts are pure crap. It’s left our group sorely disappointed due to poor writing, an evident lack of play testing and the fact that most aren’t of the original horror caliber but instead based on pop culture references. Dumb. The roof is probably unnecessary as well. Tainted one of my favorite games.

Bought it on a whim and sold it shortly after to clear up my collection. Never tried playing with this cause I have yet to play the base game enough to exhaust the already huge amount of replayablity it comes with (50 unique scenarios). Glad that I sold it cause most reviews I've read claimed that it makes the game way more unbalanced that it already is.
