Betrayal Legacy
Betrayal Legacy marries the concept of Betrayal at House on the Hill with the permanency and multi-game storytelling. Betrayal Legacy consists of a prologue and a thirteen-chapter story that takes place over decades. Players represent families, with specific members of a family participating in one story, then perhaps an older version of those characters or their descendants showing up in later stories.

This game is a broken mess. All the more disappointing because I can see a game I want to play, but it unfortunately never materializes. The rulebook is awful. There should be a lot more time before the haunt kicks in. The game has no balance. It’s completely half-assed. So almost all of the fun is ruined for both sides because the exploring is always rushed and the haunt is usually completely unbalanced. The group consensus is that it would have been nice if the designers could have updated the broken parts of the original game.

Started off as a 9/10 and declined to 7/10 midway through campaign. Quality steadily continued downwards, until the concluding couple of games which were shockingly bad. Good ideas were exhausted early on and the interesting narrative arcs never continued. Really soured the 13 game grind.

Legacy style works well, but like the original, there are some scenarios that are imbalanced due to the results of the pre-haunt phase. Presentation of scenario-specific rules seems much clearer than the original. Would recommend to anyone who likes the original.
