Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

I loved the Galaxy Trucker app, so this was a no brainer. Missions are hilariously fun. Base game was no longer challenging for me and the expansion provided the added difficulty that I was wanting, without overwhelming complexity.

This expansion makes the game harder for sure, but i think i rather play with this expansion than not. Some of the quests forces you to build your ship in a certain way and that to me is great, because it makes you change the way you would always play. It adds more rules to an already confusing game (for new players), so i guess you shouldn't add this with people who are new to the game.

1st play: This is perhaps the best expansion yet in that it's not just more tiles and more punishment. It provides missions that give you a clear goal, and a sense of direction. Scores were higher than previously, but that just reflects that there's a reason we're out there trucking through space. The mission cards add a lot of flavor and the super cards are really brutal.
