This mechanic usually requires players to pick up an item or good at one location on the playing board and bring it to another location on the playing board. Initial placement of the item can be either predetermined or random. The delivery of the good usually gives the player money to do more actions with. In most cases, there is a game rule or another mechanic that determines where the item needs to go.
Pick-up and Deliver
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

One play. I didn't involve myself in the travel action space as much as I had intended, but I liked what I saw through Jen's stellar play. Jen beat me by a mile, and her judicious acquisition of goods from the sea spaces played largely into that (in more general terms, she dominated the market to game winning effect). My head wasn't really into the game, and I mainly picked it up to be a completionist, seeng as how I had Village Inn as well. The Village is far from a favorite game, and Jen loathed it more than any title I introduced her to when I originally brought the game to the table. That said, she liked the experience more on this second play. This is a 10/10 inclusion to a game that I'd rate a 5 or 6/10. *shrug* p.s. to be clear, the 10 means I would never go back to the original travel options of the base game. Or, at the least, not anytime in the next decade of expected plays.

Adds a lot to the base game. Now there are more paths for winning strategies, I'm not a fan of expansions at all but this is highly recommended because, as opposed to the usual, improves the base game...

Great expansion. Advantageously replaces the travel action with a more interesting and varied one. Sailing and collecting items and treasures adds a nice push-your-luck element. "Will I be back in time for market day?". A lot to take in for new players, but this expansion really does improve the game.
