Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.

I know a lot of people don't like this one, but I love it. Venus Next does not change the game radically as Colonies and Turmoil do, which is what I'm looking for. The Venus cards and the board are lovely, and even though the general consensus is that they are too weak, I see people win with a Venus strategy just as often as the other strategies. The only drawback is that the other expansions does not add more Venus cards, making Venus strategies weaker with more expansions. This is another reason why I prefer not to get more expansions, as I want to keep Venus viable.

Probably the least interesting of all the expansions…the rewards for strategies targeting the Venus track just aren’t quite good enough.

It took a while for this expansion to grow on me but it feels more and more in dispensable in game play with every new expansion released
