Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

EXPANSION: Very difficult. You get penalized by drawing cards and many encounter cards force you to draw cards. DO NOT bring cards that allow you to draw cards. Shadow Effects are nasty, BALIN (Leadership Hero) is a superstar. You will lose all your items and all your allies but 1 ally per player. Make sure your deck has less Allies, more hero enhancements that are not items or mounts. Bring a lot of events. The Wizards Voice and Thicket of Spear (Tactic Events) are awesome. Forest Snare (Lore Attachment) is awesome to lock down Enemy Cards. Super Tank Beregond with Unexpected Courage is also a great combo!

Very difficult, but it's passable. When you transition from the state of frustration to the state of cautious hope - while adjusting your deck time and again - you feel that your fighting chance grows with every tuning made :) Firefoot is arguably the most notable of player cards. A perfect fit for Eomer decks.
