Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Finstar
One of my favourite characters to play. With "Float like a butterfly" she does insane damage since she can basically confuse the enemy almost every turn (which makes her specific attack cards deal 9 damage to the villain). Add to this the ability to generate two resources each turn for free, switch her bonuses to her needs, specific cards that can counter encounter cards, and access to the amazing psionic cards for deckbuilding. A very strong character that can deal damage and handle threat / schemes all by herself. A lot of fun to play. She might even be borderline overpowered. PS: Note that the interrupt on her ID is not forced.
Daedalica
My first impression is, that Psylocke is a good mix of Gamora and Venom. She is very strong, but fun at the same time. Best MCDB-Deck: "Ten Percent Luck, Twenty Percent Skill" - Aggression "Flurry of X-Men" - Justice "Psy Spy with My Little Eye" - Justice
Saume
She comes with a justice deck by default and 1/1/2 stats, but she has 2 cards that start in play and give her +1 to attack or thwart. She's pretty strong, however, both times I played her was with Cable, and his Nemesis just completely messed both Psylocke and Cable up. Still a very strong hero, I guess these were just unlucky circumstances.
