Since the launch of Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game, the Great Clans of Rokugan have teetered on a precarious ledge. Now, in one night, that ledge has given way. New alliances have been formed, old rivalries have been ignited, and the Great Clans of Rokugan are prepared for all-out war.
Declare your allegiance with Clan War, a premium expansion for Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game that contains a total of 234 cards and introduces two new multiplayer formats to the game. The Enlightenment format sees three players racing to claim all five elemental rings, while Team Conquest allows players to join up into two teams to break each others’ strongholds. When the clans clash in open war, none can be victorious alone! Not only does the expansion include the rules for how to play these formats, but most cards in the set synergize with multiplayer play, and a treaty pad and cards included in the expansion allow you to form and break alliances.

First really interesting addition to this game. It allows to play different multiplayer combinations. And I’m quite a fan of the alliance mechanics where you can form a temporary team with another player against another one… but be careful of the impact of treason. Only downside is that it changes a condition in the rules of the rings and is therefore another thing to learn.

Since BGG makes it difficult to differentiate between games owned and expansions owned, I mark them owned here instead of marking them owned in the status tracker. Owned

Please see my rating for Fantasy Flight's L5R LCG. I don't rate the individual expansions or track plays for each one since my collection is all mixed together.
