Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

I really wish I had managed to snag more Nightmare content while the game was still in print, because now it is nearly impossible to find. Thankfully there is always OCTGN to be able to play them on. Amon Din is one of the easiest scenarios in the entire game (and maybe the worst AP when you factor in the player cards as well), and this Nightmare Deck instantly transforms it into one of the hardest Nightmare quests that there is. The difficulty swing is awesome, and there is no reason to ever play this quest as the vanilla version anymore.
