You arrived too late to stop the loathsome rite, and a monstrous, transdimensional Ancient One tears through reality. An iridescent rift slashes across the darkened skies, heralding the nightmarish creatures that pour into the hallowed buildings of Miskatonic University. As howls and screams cut through the night, there is only one path left for your fearless investigators—hold back the horde long enough to somehow reverse the summoning.
Arkham Horror: Final Hour is a fully co-operative, fast-paced board game for one to four players. An endless tide of monsters sweeps across the Miskatonic University campus, and you must hold them back, all while searching desperately for the ritual components you need to put an end to this insanity. Playable in under 60 minutes, your fate depends on cooperation between you and your fellow investigators. The odds against you are astronomical, but if you don’t succeed, this will indeed be the final hour for Arkham…and the world.

A bit dry at first BUT playing it in HARD mode, the game offers more fun moments. Once you learn the mechanics AND correct sequence of play it opens up as a nice 45 minutes time filler with a FFG Lovecraft theme. My guess is that the low scoring on BGG is caused by starter players just playing it on easy or normal mode. The true game and its pressure only comes by playing it in normal or hard mode though depending on your expertise with the game. Solo is as much fun as 2 player, if not even more. Great (small) addition to the FFG Lovecraft stable of games and something different.

After several games, I find I really enjoy what this is and feel like they accomplished what they set out to do. The core mechanic is concise and interesting. The pace is very quick. It ties together nicely as an Arkham-themed, 30 minute opener or closer to game night.

Good coop with interesting mechanism and theme. Might increase rating after a few more games.... BUT rather decreased t iafter 4 plays. Consider to sell it... too luck based with too few options.
