Terrible writing and boring story. Boring class abilities. Somewhat fun equipmemt, but the gameplay gets samey quick.

Only played it a couple times as of this review, but while it may not have as much replay ability as, say, Descent 2e, it's just as fun. Can't wait for them to come out with more material (hopefully some free). Note: Don't waste your time on the companion app for mobile. If/when you purchase expansions or hero packs for S&S, you also have to buy DLC in the companion app to add those characters/items to your game. Update: After playing the campaign that comes with the base game.... yes all six quests... the game doesn't feel complete.... having a level cap of 4 (out of 7 available in the box) and the story feels, largely, unfinished..... until you buy the expansion that comes out later in 2018..... so, in essence, you're buying HALF a game for $60+ now, then having to wait months while they release an "expansion" that gives some more Act I side quests (again, not supposed to level past 4), and then months after that, they plan on releasing the second half of the game. That was suuuuch a let down. Yeah, the game is fun to play, but with little replayability and the expense of spending ~$60 per half of the game, and all that coupled with how tight-to-the-chest they're keeping the content created and not opening it up to the community for full customization (they have a pretty well-done campaign tracker spreadsheet that's PASSWORD PROTECTED (just like their PDFs that aren't fully functional).... so you can't even improve or fix them if you wanted to!), I've reduced a "first feel" 10 star view of the game down to 4 stars. Personally, I'd suggest playing the game if you know someone who already has it, but I wouldn't spend another $60 on it for a new copy....

This is literally descent for hardcore players, at the beginning is a little hard to remember all the rules, but is very gratifying once you get used to it.
