Betting/Wagering games are games that encourage or require players to bet money (real or in-game) on certain outcomes within the game.
Betting/Wagering
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Very funny game. Working placement, a bit of strategy and much push your luck. 50% push and 50% luck. For easy evenings.

{EDIT: Score 7 -> 8. Additional time has helped me appreciate the flavor of this game even more. Definitely worth teaching.} I really enjoy the idea of this game, and I recommend most people play it at least once. The theme is very present, and you can easily enjoy role-playing with the vibe of Karate Kid/The Last Airbender. My gripe about this is that the game somehow feels short and long at the same time. The worker placement phase is great, and players really think for a sec before making a decision. The combat phase is really fun, but then one algebra equation later and it's over. Admittedly, the phase takes long enough already to want to add more to it. Most important tip I can give: Always play 4 Player. Maaaaaybe you can try the solo version, but 2-3 player is a bust when everyone just ends up feeling like a loser. Though I suppose it could be fun if everyone views the proxy opponents as "Cobra Kai."

I understand the issues with the gameplay, but I would play it again "as it is if" given the chance, I had fun the first time. It seems like people often wants to make houserules to fix the game, and I am no exception. Would not buy because I would want to test the house rules first, to make sure the problems are fixable.
