Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Aquasphere-lite because it has Time, crystals, submarines, changing stations/districts, area control, underwater theme. Rules are easy, but incomplete for 2-player - who gets to decide for neutral player during donations? I like it, but each turn is the same. It’s kind of mindless. It outstays its welcome for 2 players as in I felt like it should have been nearing the end halfway through. And the tile drawing isn't thematic. I would have liked to see the rooms flooding and people rushing out of there.

When Ludonaute was taken over by Asmodee and became a design studio, they clearly started to aim at lighter, family games. This one certainly falls into that category. The aim is to collect as much as possible majorities in the 5 possible resources and you collect the resources by claiming a dice. Each location lets you do something special, but as the main goal is to collect a majority in the resource you're collecting, you often only care when there is a possibility to collect a second one. All in the end it takes too long for what it is, because it's not that gems do something different then tools or so, you simply want the majority. And the dice can screw you, as when you're competing with someone for the same resource, you can have the bad luck that no dice become available at that location. And with 4 you have 9 dice, but with 3 or 2 players only 7, so the chances of being screwed over even bigger. All together: I wouldn't mind playing it if someone asks for it, but I certainly wouldn't pick it myself and I certainly don't need to own it. There are for better fillers - with dice - out there.

Not a bad game overall. Iconography on the district tiles are extremely non-intuitive though. We had to look up the district powers every single time we took a die even after multiple times visiting the same district. May get easier with more plays but not sure. Several typos in the rule book as well.
