Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Some board games incorporate elements of role playing. It can be that players control a character that improves over time. It can also be a game that encourages or inspires storytelling.

Not the best mechanic Arkham Horror LCG has introduced. The scenerio feels short-lived, but it's still served the story well.

Echoes of the Past takes you to the Arkham Historical Society to gather more information on the King in Yellow. I didn’t find this scenario to be as fun or thematic as the first two scenarios of the Path to Carcosa campaign, and found it to be the weakest scenario in the PtC campaign, but it’s still a decent scenario.

Most of the story seemed to be locked away from us because we got on top of the cultists right away. Surprising balance.
