Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The simultaneous action selection mechanic lets players secretly choose their actions. After they are revealed, the actions resolve following the rule-set of the game.

From the Merv designer. So, so abstract and mind bending. And it is quite short, but oh, so crunchy! I do want to play it with 3p though, some of the interaction seems a bit lost in 2p (mainly the pyramids become less interesting).

Lives up to the play time even on a first game. However, it doesn't count setup and tear down which is about as long as the play time.

2022-11-20 : First play. Perhaps the least liked of all the Lopiano games I played. I like games where you can plan stuff one or more turns ahead. This game appears to be such that you can plan ahead for your next turn, but in reality you really can't because you don't know turn order and in later rounds the amount of stuff is too much for me to visualize what I'm going to do with it before I physically get the stuff and get it sorted out. This is going to sound nuts but for me the game ramps up too quickly. This combined with the planning problem leads to a "6" - and ok game that could have been a lot better.
