In Yucatan, you are the leader of a Mayan city. You have promised your people to win the favors of the Gods, and their fate is in your hands. Send your warlords to capture enemies, increase your might with every season of the sacred calendar, and sacrifice your prisoners to the Mayan gods to ensure your dominance.
Your warlords will become more and more formidable, your city more and more glorious, but your opponents do the same, so enlisting the help of the mythological creatures and heroes will be necessary to try to restore with blood, the energy of your gods.
In this game, your goal is to capture prisoners, and the Yucatan peninsula is your playground. Prepare for four seasons of fierce fighting. At the end of each season, you will ritually sacrifice captured enemies to gain reputation, but be careful because the gods are demanding: Each of your sacrifices must be more glorious than the last. Each decision matters in the subtle balance required to make your city the glorious and eternal sanctuary of the mighty Mayan gods.

Really enjoyable game, even though all the new rules clarifications help, and the new rulebook. Symbology takes a bit to get used to. Can be quite challenging turn to turn, but the gameplay is tight, and you feel the challenge.

三个城,大家在野外相安无事,进城碰面就干架,打输了就退去野外,感觉在玩个大号的东京之王。 最奇葩的是:守城原地不动是没有任何收获的(东京之王守城好歹有一分,这个就真啥都没有呵呵),到自己的时候如果还在城里,就要想办法移动去别的城干架???而且只有进攻的打赢了可以触发城市奖励,守城方甚至要求着别人来打自己,不然都没有刷俘虏的机会(这游戏的核心就是俘虏别人的士兵) 还有一个奇葩的点:献祭的俘虏点数要比别人高,还要比自己上一轮献祭的高,不然奖励会少很多,但是每个俘虏的价值是逐年递减的,什么鬼?第一年一个俘虏值3点,第二年2,第三年1?? 整体感受:不徳不美,当美式来玩嘛图标多了点,升级和叠buff的限制比较多,干得不够爽快;当德式来玩又没有操作的空间。 稀烂的规则书和BOSS+老李村上天的教学扣一分 洗了个澡又想起个槽点:建筑的等级和能不能做这个行动没有关系,仅仅用于降低行动费用(例如要召唤二级生物,有三级神庙都没用,必须要在召唤进化轨上达到二级才行),有四种建筑可以升级,但是每大轮只有一次升级机会,玩个锤子!

This really could have been a 9 for me, to be honest!, but it loses two points because of some of the issues I had with it. Let's start with the positive: gameplay is so simple and has the potential to be fast. I love how each player can upgrade very differently. and there isn't really time to do everything so you really have to try to specialize. There is really a lot here to love. However, there are some pretty big hurdles here too. First off, the rulebook is terrible - it makes bad rulebooks look good. I honestly don't know what happened there - it is inexcusably bad. It has very limited examples, it does not explain all the symbols, the grammar is off and some of the word choice can make otherwise simple concepts confusing. It's seriously one of the worst rulebooks I have come across in a long time. Second, there are so many symbols in the game! Most (but not all) of them are explained to some extent but not in one place - you have to go back and forth between the rules and the player aid, and some things simply never get explained and require players just to make a call. The biggest problem is that this can cause the game to slow to a crawl as players try to figure out what things mean - and this can really kill the play. I will say that if you are able to overcome these obstacles, the game has the potential to be fantastic. I just worry that some people will be put off by the rules and symbols or have a bad first play and never get past that. If you can learn it from someone else, you'll probably love it!
