Played once so my feelings could change: Feels like turn order is the most important factor in this game but is uncontrollable so it is difficult to make strategic decisions. Also annoying not to be able to. Tactical games are wonderful, but the randomness here makes even tactical decisions difficult. Maybe with more experience I would feel differently?

World's Fair presents a nice blend of set collection and area control in a fast paced family weight game. Although, I wish the graphic design had a cleaner look and feel. They really try to force the theme through flavor text and other design elements, which I find very distracting. The mechanics of the game don't convey the theme, and that doesn't necessarily bother me. I just dislike when a game visually looks busy for no beneficial reason, obscuring what is essentially a simple and enjoyable game.

I enjoyed my first play with 2-players. It plays fast and smooth and is very smart. Our game ended with a tie breaker which was pretty shocking - a fine sign of a well balanced game. The placement creates a tense conflict - placing for cards, placing for majority, placing to advance the current round - all are in your in your mind. And what about considering what your opponent is wanting? It's 100% open information when you take your turn. It could create AP, but in fact it is too breezy for that to happen. And the production! Just amazing amount of beautiful detail - really too much perhaps (nearly every card is unique in details, but not in function). I like it quite a bit.
