Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.

Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.

Cards seemed unbalanced and random, for a 2 hour abstract , game could come down to a top deck on the last turn! Also very AP prone. In a 4 player game a single move by an opponent can cost you 3-4 turns to fix.

I don't mind tactical games, and even enjoy some that others don't, but this one was too much. There was literally no reason to plan ahead because the board changed *so much* every single time someone took a turn. It had a neat idea, but really wasn't that great.

2022-05: I really didn't care for this one which is a tragedy. The production is goregeous and the puzzles are awesome. The problem is that the game invites way too much AP. I would NEVER play this with more than 2 people. Beyond that though the different methods of scoring are not all equal. Letting another player run away with one of the scoring types can outright take you out of the game. Too bad because as I said this game's table presence was phenomenal. Also it is about two rounds too long.
