Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.
Variable Player Powers
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Love the evolving worker placementy board. Don't like the card draws and confusing theme. And the meh artwork. Wish there was a bit more to it. Great game though

There's just something special with this game, it really is fantastic... it's tactile, it's fun, it's great looking, and it scratches a sort of unique itch. Love it.

A simple game rules-wise. The complexities come from the players being the ones that control which action spaces get added to the board and where. While the common gather resources and turn them in for a a thing is very common in Euro games and typically something I enjoy, it just feels tedious in this game for some reason - perhaps because the actions are so loosey goosey instead of being prebuilt to form a tight, cohesive loop. The backs of all of the tiles and cards are painfully boring; would it have killed someone to put a bit of effort into making them look less bland? Just felt incomplete and couldn't be bothered to play this any more. Sold.
