Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

Extremely basic area control, doesn't do anything new. Not a bad game but not one that I would keep in my collection either.

Whelp, this is pretty bad. The graphic design is a train wreck. The board is too dark, the color of the cubes don't contrast well with the board, but I guess the card art is not offensive. The above I'd probably give a pass if the game was fun at all. The actions are not interesting. The actions are in fact quite pedestrian and boring. The game play is equally as boring - no interesting choices of any flavor to be made. Neither player had any fun working the various cards. The theme I guess is OK? Aliens show up and have the advantage. Great. They are interstellar beings after all. As the pesky humans you can do damage and hopefully make them eventually go away. Because they get bored? Because they see your tenacity and just give up? You don't actually destroy anything up as a human player. You're like that single marine in Starcraft trying take down the Protoss base that eventually gets stomped on by a passerby that got tired of the noise. This game is bad. I feel bad for having spent money on it. Everything is just bad. Bad.

Solid assymetric two player deck builder. It has a definite ramp up to it. I like how your beginner deck is almost entirely trashable, but doing so could leave you in a bad spot. Would play again - but not ultimately sure it's much better than something like Star Realms.
