Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Variable Player Powers is a mechanic that grants different abilities and/or paths to victory to the players.

One of a kind euro. Rondel movement makes this one of a kind in its genre, with a superb solo design closely mimicking human opponents initially (unfortunately the AI does not know how to meaningfully deny plays)

2021-05: Not my favorite game in the series, but there is a lot that I like here. I cannot help but compare it to Paladins, which has a fantastic decision space. Your decisions here a bit more limited, but it also plays a bit faster and smoother. I find all of the areas for scoring to be engaging and interesting and the corruption mechanic feels a bit more punishing here than in Paladins which I do like. All in all I am not sure if it will have as much staying power for me as Paladins has, but it is a somewhat tighter design that I may have an easier time getting to the table. 2021-10: 8->9 I find myself lusting for this one more than I thought. I think I like it ever so slightly more than paladins.

This one took me the longest to grok out of the 3 West Kingdom games (I think these productions have reached peak iconography levels, and the rulebook hurt my brain), but after a couple of plays this is definitely a keeper (I'm a solo gamer). Not yet sure where it ranks among the 3, but this is really good.
