The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

第1次玩就是加了港口扩展的版本,据说不加港口扩不好玩!非常有代入感的游戏,可以派村民四处打工,随着时间的流逝,村民还会去世。没有什么很特别的机制,但是搭配起来还挺有意思的

My brother has this & I've borrowed it and played a bunch of times. I still don't feel like I've "solved it" (which is good). It has the kind of randomization that I love: Different game-conditions each play through that require adjustments in planning and strategy.

There should be more games where you can overwork your meeples to their death. What an excellent way to integrate theme with gameplay. The cube collecting is less inspired and the random distribution can be annoying at times, especially when plague cubes fill up the actions you need. Solid game with a unique core mechanic that still holds up today.
