The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Dull pure Euro. It was unfortunate that one of the central mechanics is death... because I was waiting for its sweet embrace from my second turn.

The idea of your meeples dying is surely unique, but didn't met my expectations overall. Played at 2P, and Travel action seemed very expensive, Market action very static and Mass had too little interest. Score track is unusually inconvenient and last but not least, this is NOT for colorblind people.

June 2023 - 7 - 2 plays (both at 2 player) + Fun medium/light weight game that can play really quick (at least at 2 player) + Like the theme and having workers die and the story that tells about their renown in the village + Big box production is very nice and I love the artwork, hadn't played the old version so no complaint from me about ruining everything. The only dumb thing about it is the size of the box, without that giant insert all the components could fit in a normal sized box. + Need more plays trying different strategies, but I think it seems pretty much every area has a path to victory if executed well. I have always raced to focus on one or two areas while killing workers to get the village chronicle max points, curious if there is a winning play by avoiding killing workers and trying to max out a few tracks. = After first play felt pretty "meh" about it, definitely a 6. But played it again last night and we both agreed it was much more fun. Looking forward to including some of the expansions and getting more plays to see if it continues to get better. - Thematically it is a bit odd that for church, council, and travel areas, it seems that the workers that die and get memorialized as being "renown clergy/council members/travelers" probably didn't get very far on the tracks since they died. It is the younger generations that have a chance to make it to the end.
