Deck building/Pool building refers to a collection of related mechanisms. Players have a personal pool, or collection, of cards or tokens, that provide different actions and/or resources. A subset of those cards/tokens are randomly drawn each turn.

Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.

This is a deck-builder where you buy cards from a number of set piles or a constantly changing display. Two things that set it apart are that some cards are buildings that don't go into your deck but form a tableau, and much of the game is about directly attacking other players. It's not a bad game, but the strategic options are limited and obvious, the card abilities are mostly simplistic, and I can't think of a reason I would ever want to play this over many more interesting deck-builders: Dominion, Clank!, Trains, Thunderstone...even Ascension, which I find on the dull side. Without the many extra KS cards or an expansion, the base card set will get old very quickly. Yes, this is one of those games where the non-KS version is seriously limited - it was utterly lame to run out of quest cards half way through the game. Dislike the art immensely, but that's personal taste.

Just received my game from kickstarter, there are some cardsand part of an expansion missing - however its nightmare to figure out which cards are missing because there is no list of content of the cards with the rule book. Also some of tge components has changed from the original kickstarter listing. Wanted to send the game, back and request a refund. Was told by luckyduckgames to sell it on ebay. Certainly will never ever buy a game from them again
