Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
In storytelling games, players are provided with conceptual, written, or pictorial stimuli which must be incorporated into a story of the players' creation.
Storytelling

The rules are a mess, but there seems to be a fairly simple, decent game in there somewhere. Lots of theme and plastic, but needs to be streamlined and get a rulebook re-write. In my second game (in which I only made one rule mistake--not exchanging the 2 pt dens in the Third Act), I was able to play quickly and enjoyed the game's simplicity. The third solo game went smoothly. I won by completing both solo missions and scoring the minimum needed. My suggestion is to push through learning to get to the fun, which is mainly making wise decisions in the Montage phase in order to have the flexibility needed to win fights. Honestly, for solo, this feels like a $35 game that was overproduced. The big tiles could have been cards and the minis are okay, but not needed in the least. If they were just tokens and the rulebook was better written, this would be a fantastic game for solo players. Traded because I wanted a pirate game (The Pirate Republic) more than a Death Wish game

The designers clearly do not understand the purpose of drafting as a mechanic and assumed it would be cool to just simply slap it onto any game with cards because they can. When you have no point of reference to draft, you might as well be dealt a random hand of cards since the value of all cards are completely arbitrary.
