Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.

I tried this game because of its high rating, and I appreciate the simplicity matched with a historical theme. As a tactical system (and I know tactical systems) this accomplishes much for very simple rules. The scenarios are a little limited, though there's many of them, and I wish this system could be ported over to something much larger than just four or five men.

Probably the best version of the Undaunted Series, and one that has really changed my mind about the hero status of the Italian Army in WWII. In Undaunted: North Africa the Eye-ties are not pushovers, and definitely can give the Brit LRDG a run for their money here. The flexibility of tactics is what makes this game superb, and a real hoot on game night.

I like that it is shorter and simpler than Memoir 44. But I still get tired out from crafting the specific decks and setting up the map. It's a short game that is more likely to be played on a weeknight but I want to save my weekends for more fun games that are happier. And less brown. The most interesting part for me is the deck building. I find the choices are kind of boring since there aren't really many places to go and sometimes the best way to go is obvious. I also like that the people have names and I make up funny stories about them to keep myself entertained.
