[December 2023 - 7.5] Living in Colorado, I love the theme and art of this one and the gameplay is solid, but not overly challenging as some of Ryan Courtney's other games. It hits the right notes for a family game. With semi-plastic cards and a carrying case, this was billed a game you could travel with and play outdoors, but from experience, this doesn't quite fit the bill. The wind would easily blow up your board, and a flat surface (outdoors or in a tent) is typically hard to come by! I'll still enjoy the game at home, though!

Initial rating, based on a single 4-player game. The drafting in this game feels pretty redundant, as it's not the type of gameplay where you'll be actively blocking opponents from achieving their goals (other than perhaps in the final turn or two). It's really hard to envision at the start how the eventual landscape and trails will turn out. Still, there's opportunities to be clever and play the odds, with varying scoring goals to keep things fresh, so overall I think I'm left with a pretty positive impression of the game.
