Tickets are worth an insane amount of points, first game with the 55 point bonus, winner was in the 250's which is excessive.... My Group didn't like this one at all (Its still TTR to me...) IMO they took a step back. The bridges didn't add that much strategy, especially since Routes that are one link away were worth 15+ points in some case? You can complete tickets all day long in this one and still score a ton! Maybe the rating will go up after more plays... but its going to be a while before my group probably even allows me to bring this near the table, little lone play it again.

My wife is a dedicated Ticket to Ride fan, and she'll normally support me picking up any expansion for the game. I'm a little less enthusiastic, but even I have to admit that each expansion that Days of Wonder releases adds something new to the game and is very well thought out. This expansion is second only to the team versions of the Asia expansion. The need to pay tolls adds a new element to the game and encourages players to claim routes sooner instead of simply hoarding cards. I'm rating this after only one play with two players, but I'm enthusiastic to play this some more. The two player game requires a "dummy" player, but it actually works quite well. In fact, this map might be one of the best options for two behind something like Nordic countries.

The game-end bonus structure awards points to those who were efficient with their money. Unfortunately, the scale of those points always seems to negate in-game performance. I do not think I've ever played a game where the winner was someone other than whoever scored the 55 point bonus.
