Card drafting games are games in which players pick cards from a limited subset, such as a common pool, to gain some advantage (immediate or longterm) or to assemble hands of cards that are used to meet objectives within the game.
Card Drafting
Hand management games are games with cards in them that reward players for playing the cards in certain sequences or groups. The optimal sequence/grouping may vary, depending on board position, cards held and cards played by opponents. Managing your hand means gaining the most value out of available cards under given circumstances. Cards often have multiple uses in the game, further obfuscating an "optimal" sequence.
Hand Management
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.

Another "small" version with a fun mechanism of collecting route completion cards on some connections for end game bonus points. Like the other small versions, it's fast with a board that can be quite tight.

SOLD because I am trying to keep a lean collection, and because I prefer other fillers to it. ~ 1) Connect routes in old Amsterdam in this miniature version of the classic. 2) Each turn, players may take control of a route, draw new ticket cards, or take color cards from the central display or from the top of the deck. The schtick with this one, aside from being much smaller and faster thatn regular size ToR, is that many of the routes on the edge of the map give you goods cards, which offer additional majority scoring at the end of the game. 3) I loved: The lavish production values, from the art to the plastic carts to the wooden discs, how quick it plays, how light it plays. 4) Could be improved: Tom Vazel seems to be right about this one - getting goods will most likely win you the game, so it is not so balanced? But what if all the players compete for the external routes? Well then the player with tickets that benefit more from external routes will likely win? Maybe Vazel is wrong about this one? Or maybe I am thinking too much about a 15 minutes filler? 5) A light, beautiful filler - nothing to think too much about.

This is great fun, and keeps the same simple gameplay loop of Ticket to Ride in a more condensed form. It hooked me in my first playthrough, and I ended up buying Ticket to Ride: Europe only a few days later. Super quick to learn, and super quick in general - easily doable in 20-30 minutes
