Thrash’n Roll
45m - 90m
2 - 4 Players
Ages 12+
Dice rolling in a game can be used for many things, randomness being the most obvious. Dice can also be used as counters. The dice themselves can be unique and different sizes, shapes and colors to represent different things.
Dice Rolling
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

1/23: Better than I was led to believe. The rules are a bit tough to understand, but I think we got them right, and we had a good time. The included cds are hilarious to play with the game! Both of them seemed to enjoy it, and are interested in playing again, which is a good sign. Make sure you develop some strong band members! Michael 140 Audrey 112 Oskar 108

Note: I was not affected by the big problems this KS had, which I am thankful. I ended up not getting the upgrade pack from the 2nd crowdfunding, but I live fine with those 15€ lost, since I knew they were a shot in the dark. I like the game, quite a bit. It misses something for me to get more than the 8. But it is not that far away. I liked the premise, the mechanism and the actions. I think the tempo was one of my problems: you ended up only doing 2 singles and 1 album usually. Maybe 2 albums. I wanted to do a bit more. It is a shame there was no solo mode to play, added to the fact I couldn't get anyone interested to play it more often. I guess it would have grown on me with more plays. With this, I ended up selling it with some level of regret.

The theme really shines through! I love managing a metal band even though I'm far from being a metalhead myself. The rulebook is bad. We set a few house rules to make it more balanced. It's a rare game I got used copy of and paid most to get. Almost 150€ all together. Shipping from other side of the globe, import fees and customs charges. It was worth it! In my Top10 or very close to it.
