Play occurs upon a modular board that is composed of multiple pieces, often tiles or cards. In many games, board placement is randomized, leading to different possibilities for strategy and exploration. Some games in this category have multiple boards which are not used simultaneously, preserving table space. Unused boards remain out of play until they are required.
Modular Board
Maneuvers that directly attack an opposing player's strength, level, life points or do something else to impede their progress.

Firstly - I don't really think there's negative interaction. Yes, one takes wolves of other players but it's rare. Secondly - the game is really fast. We played for one hour and we are rather slow. We'll surely manage in under 45 minutes. Thirdly - and probably the most surprising - Wolves is an incredibly thematic abstract game. All actions make sense! Fourthly - it works really well with two players. And obviously it looks fantastic! And yet... it feels somehow sluggish to play and just not very exciting :/

Medium weight area control with interesting action selection mechanisms where you have flip tiles with terrain you wish to do the action on. I like that it is quite deeply integrating what you do on a map with your own board, you place a den on a map that counts towards influence and with the same action you increase specific actions power. I like that the game does not have set amount of rounds, but basically game evolves naturally depending what actions people do and how fast they grow there presence on the board. It scales quite nicely with all player counts. It is very tight and crunch area control, you can be mean and you can cave in, also game requires you to be quite reactive as your plan can be completely ruined in one round, so you have to ether figure out backup plans or have to adapt quite quickly. I like that you can really plan ahead, but it is quite tactical in a way that thous plans can be changed by other players and there actions, space is quite limited so some of the point scoring on regions are very competitive and tight. This one gets 8/10 but I see it having higher score with time, lets se how long the honey moon lasts

Love theme and most of the game (hunting, finding shelters, growing your pack, travelling to new hunting grounds). The action system is quite prone to AP, which is why the game doesn't score higher for me (it is a bit conflicting, gameplay on the map is much more fun with more players, but then downtime is high)
