[October 2022] An interesting experience, which basically is a negotiation story telling game. The story can sometimes be quite hard to follow though, especially with five stories going on in parallel and with the many, many difficult names for places, people and artifacts. The last game was a bit weird too and I wished that during the campaign the game would nudge a bit more to what the different scoring and marking would mean for the finale. After the final game I looked into other envelopes because there will be many story branches that stay undiscovered. I guess I shouldn't have done that because I was slightly disappointed that we we did not encounter some of the awesome events. Overall a nice experience, which I think we only saw its true potential the last few games, when we understood better the value of crossing of boxes and putting our signatures on cards, and we started to use higher bribes and heavier negotiations.

Bidding legacy game where players try to manipulate different tracks according to their objectives. New cards, rules, and traits get unlocked during the game. Good story, suitable-good gameplay. What makes it special? * Narrative game with voting system * Momentum mechanic Pros: + Well written, immersive story + Interesting conversations and negotiations + Simple voting system with very cool momentum mechanic + Achievements + Simple rules + Easy to teach and play Neutrals: # Very language dependent # Legacy game: not reversible, you open envelopes and use stickers # Quite expensive # Somehow unclear what impact some tracks have in the game Cons: - Best with 5 players and same group Similar games: * Tales of Arabian Nights (narrative game)
