Pattern Building is a system where players place game components in specific patterns in order to gain specific or variable game results. For example: placing chips on 2, 4, 6, 8 on a board gets the player an action card they can use later in the game.
Pattern Building
The primary goal of a set collection mechanic is to encourage a player to collect a set of items.
Set Collection
Tile Placement games feature placing a piece to score VPs, with the amount often based on adjacent pieces or pieces in the same group/cluster, and keying off non-spatial properties like color, "feature completion", cluster size etc.
Tile Placement
This mechanism requires players to select individual actions from a set of actions available to all players. Players generally select actions one-at-a-time and in turn order. There is usually(*) a limit on the number of times a single action may be taken. Actions are commonly selected by the placement of game pieces or tokens on the selected actions. Each player usually has a limited number of pieces with which to participate in the process.

Played once so far. Enjoyed it, but will need more plays to really know how it stands. I'm not sure if I like the star-placing phase or not, just such a small space with all of the lines you need/want to connect

FIRST IMPRESSION: At first I found it interesting but the game is pretty repetitive and felt like it lasted a couple rounds too long. By the end, there was precious little of interest to do except make offerings and forage stuff for offerings. The little puzzle in phase one was interesting for a while but became less interesting as the game dragged into the late stages of the game. Cool theme though!
